Maine Women Deserve a Spa Day

If middle-aged women came out on strike, the world would stop moving, the sun falls from heaven and Satan would be practical triple Axel in hell. Am I right? We're the last line of defense against the chaos and absolute, and no one knows (except, of course, other middle-aged women).

Think about it. Who is running the bake sale, meetings of committees and religious groups? Who makes the enrichment classes down to adult ed., Fitness classes at the gym, and volunteering to the center for the elderly? Who is providing for free baby sitting grandchildren and driver for their elderly parents to the doctor?Oh, and who takes care of our husbands who are also middle-aged, but refuse to admit it. We are, that's who!

There is much to shoulder, so when Betty suggested that we all do a spa day at Bangor on Saturday, Celeste, Rita, Dot, Shirley and I (aka Women Who Run With the Moose) jumped at the chance . Betty is still up on the latest stuff, and she had heard of this new spa that you just opened, which was supposed to be real smart. So we piled into Shirley Bonneville's (the only car big enough to hold all six of us), and head to the big city.
