KINGSTON - When Bruce Davis is a graduate of Roane County High School in 1961, there was no reason to believe that he would one day serve a life sentence for killing two people in connection with the series's most famous mass murder in American history.
As a member of the infamous family "Manson, who has left a trail of corpses slain in southern California in 1969, former resident of Midtown and University of Tennessee student was eventually sentenced to spend the rest of his life behind bars for his role in killing two of the victims family.
Officials in California, however, recently surprised many families of victims by granting parole Davis after more than two decades of rejection of his tender for an early release.
It remains uncertain whether Davis, who is now 67, will actually be allowed to leave prison, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger may reverse the decision of the Parole Board.
