How seriously should I take the advice not to use conventional masonry bits with an SDS drill.?
My auger comes with a chuck that appears to allow hammer action so I could use a type bit. I know the extra hammer force of SDS drills exceeds what...
Bad awareness you will damage your chuck and shatter the end off of the bit SDS bits only cost a few pounds and will last for a yearn time drilling breeze blocks...
Can you drill into concrete with a masonry bit using a regular (non-hammer) drill?
Due wondering if I absolutely HAVE to invest in a hammer drill for one small job.

If you only distress to drill a couple of holes, its no big deal. I had to drill 4 holes in some impede columns to mount a gate, and it worked fine.
Norristown condo builder says hollow walls 'a surprise to me'
With a phalanx of city inspectors watching, R. Bruce Fazio raised an industrial drill Thursday and bored four holes in the walls built of the condominium building he built Norristown difficulty.
Three of these holes revealed that the walls were hollow carrier, confirming the reports of inspectors Norristown leading to the conviction of the building three years, from 26 homes.
Fazio said he believed they had been filled with concrete and steel rods, as the building code requires.
"The areas where it fails to come are a surprise to me," he said in a stairwell, a few meters from one of Palm-size holes.
As he drilled, several of the eight co-owners need to evacuate the building Friday afternoon walking through the halls, some loaded with goods to move.
