BP, Transocean workers argued before blast: witness
Having worked in the oilfields for 30 + years, I have not found a mechanic who is entitled to give notice techanical on drilling. It is very unusual to have a meeting prior to move the mud with seawater in which the engineer is invited as individuals involved in the transaction, the company REP Toolpusher, Driller, Mud Engineer, Mud Logger Derrickman are usually involved. It is not necessary for a mechanic. If there is an imbalance in the pressure in the drilling pipe and casing at any time something you do not do is replace the three obstacles in this case, the drilling mud to 16.0 points per game with seawater at 8.5 points per game.By reducing the hydrostatic pressure at this stage, you have lost all three barriers, the other two being the cement plug and the balance of payments. If the plug was leaking, so you had to depend on the balance of payments and this failure, came disaster. In the United Kingdom balance of payments are tested every three weeks, unless an exemption (with reason) was obtained from the Department of Energy. Rumor has it that changes have been made to the configuration of the BOP, including BP was not aware, in this case, you should ask yourself the question "why". Transocean and BP have a duty of care towards their employees. In this case, they have both been lax. In addition, Transocean is based in Switzerland for tax reasons, but is a U.S. company. I understand the mechanic is involved in a dispute with BP, in this case his testimony should have been allowed?
